Custom Residential Design

CahillStudio is a small firm designing large custom residential projects in the San Francisco Bay Area with construction budgets of $2-6 million. The Junior Designer position is integral to the work of the principal. As such, this position offers a talented individual the opportunity to contribute to concept development in a collaborative environment and develop their own design skills.

The Junior Designer will have responsibility in an immersive and participatory environment, engaging in all aspects of our projects, from schematic design through construction documents and construction administration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

– Preparation of detailed construction document sets and bid drawings

– Develop master planning and concept design studios using 3D software

– Prepare 3D renderings and graphic presentations for clients

– Incorporate integrated sustainable and green building design solutions into project development

– Assist Principal with administration of projects under construction

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

– Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree from a NAAB accredited program

– Minimum 2 years residential architecture experience

– Demonstrated knowledge of wood frame construction

– Strong graphic, oral, and written communication skills

– Free-hand drawing skills as a communication tool

– AutoCAD proficiency

– 3D software and Adobe Creative Suite fluency

– ArchiCAD experience desired

– Working knowledge of California residential building codes and zoning a plus

– LEED special interest / experience desired
