This forum session is meant to connect with the membership & community to help identify solutions in creating a more equitable and just world, keeping in mind we are meeting to specifically discuss: advancing racial and social equity in our organization, in our profession, and the community. These issues delve into deeply vulnerable/sensitive/emotional territory. Please adhere to a respectful climate.
We recently formed the Justice, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (yes, the JEDI Committee) to begin addressing the issues we are facing as a community in hopes to bring further awareness, education and inclusivity through our efforts.

Here are some questions to we’d like to offer as we begin the next conversation:
How can we amplify the voices of members of the organization that are minorities or people of color as well as other non-AIA member BIPOC architects and designers?
How do we leverage the profession to draw in young, school age children of diverse backgrounds into the profession earlier?
Specifically to people in leadership positions – what are your plans for providing a safe workplace environment, diversity training and/or briefing? How are you addressing promoting people of color into leadership positions and roles?
