The AIA Redwood Empire is excited to announce we are hosting a one-of-a-kind home tour on Friday, June 20 in Glen Ellen. We know that architects create exceptional designs every day, and this one is especially special, not to be missed.
Linda Dodwell, homeowner and envisioner dreamt up the Australia House after living for many years in Australia. She partnered with architects Michael Rigg (Australia) and Sean Montoya (Petaluma, CA) to design a main house remodel and auxiliary structures that were reminiscent of an Australian bush homestead.
Linda will be our host and tour guide, leading us through her labyrinthic home, sharing the details of her magnificent manifestation. Not only does the home nestle perfectly within the Glen Ellen oak woodland, the foundation tanks serve two purposes – as structural members and fire suppression storage. This is truly a unique opportunity to take a jaunt down under, right here in Sonoma County.
Proceeds earned will be donated to the Sonoma County Community Architectural Foundation and the Glen Ellen Historical Society.
