Practical Applications of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Masonry in Local Jurisdictions
Join AIARE, Building Officials from Sonoma County and City of Santa Rosa, Title 24 Panel Member and Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) experts as we discuss the recent breakthroughs and merits of building with AAC in California’s fire-prone regions.
AAC is a type of precast concrete with an expansion agent that rises the mixture, similar to yeast in bread dough. Once cured, this type of concrete contains about 80% air. Autoclaved aerated concrete is factory-made, and the material is molded into blocks or slabs with precise dimensions.
