The focus of the discussion is Climate Action, looking into the future of the built environment, what’s coming down the road that architects ought to be aware of and action that can be taken in our communities. Panelists will also discuss the COTE Top 10 and how to sign the 2030 Challenge.
This panel will share their expertise on the following learning objectives:
- Overview on regional actions re: climate change crisis: 9 out of 10 jurisdictions in Sonoma County have passed a Climate Emergency Resolution.
- Climate crisis implications: zero carbon buildings; walkable, dense, mixed-use towns and cities….green building, plus: designing for future warmer temperatures – designing all-electric buildings
- Designing and communicating a compelling vision of a carbon-neutral future in Sonoma County and beyond – How to make the case to clients and members through education, preparation, mobilization.
- How to get involved and what resources that are available through local groups. How to sign on to the AIA 2030 Challenge and how to connect local chapters and firms with AIA California COTE.
