DESCRIPTION:Join your local chapter\, the American Institute of Architects\
 , Redwood Empire Chapter for an all ages\, informative cruise\, presented 
 by the AIARE Committee on the Environment (COTE).\n\n\n 	This Downtown Bik
 e Tour is centralized around downtown Santa Rosa with five areas of histor
 ical and architectural interest/foci. 1. Historical Architecture 2. New Ar
 chitecture: Housing Development 3. New Architecture + Unbuilt Potential: a
 ll other (e.g. Caritas\, Cannery) 4. Filming Locations. 5. Bonus: Public A
 rt\n\n\n\n\n 	The goals of this tour are 1. To increase awareness of Santa
  Rosa's bikeability and demonstrate how to safely navigate city streets\, 
 neighborhoods\, and connectivity (e.g. Prince Greenway Memorial\, Smart pa
 th) 2. To highlight our unique historical and contemporary architecture an
 d how they each interact in and with the community as well as some fascina
 ting history of the area in general. 3. To showcase the amazing public art
  that's available to everyone!\n\n\n\n\n 	This event is a six mile\, famil
 y-friendly\, slow cruise with safety at the forefront. We have created a m
 ap with route markers/stops and will have this available in print for ride
 rs. Tour participants will hear brief talks at each stop throughout the ro
 ute from architects\, historians\, infrastructure experts\, and a public a
 rt expert highlighting the importance and relevance of each structure and 
 location. In addition\, a transportation expert from Santa Rosa may be pre
 sent to speak to the current and proposed bicycle infrastructure.\n\nPleas
 e bring your own water. Restrooms are limited along the route\, so please 
 plan accordingly.\n\n\nWHEN:  Saturday\, November 1\n\nTIME: 10:00 am arr
 ival/sign waivers | 10:15 am begin ride | 1:30 pm finish\n\nWHERE: Downtow
 n Santa Rosa Area\, route map with stops provided to participants upon arr
 ival. Start at Juilliard Park\, South A St. Sculpture\n\nStreet parking is
