The REBECC Committee
The third annual Redwood Empire Built Environment Collaboration Committee (REBECC) event was fantastic! With eight professional organizations and well over a hundred members in attendance, this event continues to gets better and better each year. The sponsoring organizations included the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the North Coast Builders Exchange, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the US Green Building Council (USGBC), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) and the Engineering Contractors Association (ECA).
The event this year included a networking expo, lunch, wine & beer, terrific keynote speakers and new this year, mini breakout sessions designed to address all the concerns of running and building a business in our industry. It was an afternoon of networking and knowledge with programs on the topics that are important to our members that included:

A number of attendees wanted more time with the breakout groups, so the information was valuable and interesting.
Vendors included the Sonoma County Economic Development Board, Pabco, Dryvit, Trane, Draper, Daltile and Lescure Engineers. Other sponsors included Ghilotti Bros. Contractors, Landesign Construction & Maintenance, Digital Prints & Imaging, Adobe Associates Inc, Ost Engineering, Summit, GHD and JBL Photography.
All this was followed by two wonderful speakers, U.S. Congressman Jared Huffman who represents California’s Second Congressional District bringing us up to date on AB 361: Incorporating Environmental Stewardship and Social Responsibility Into Your Business.
He was followed by Chris Bradshaw, Autodesk’s Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President for Reputation, Consumer & Education and Media & Entertainment. He spoke about “Designing Successful Business Strategies”.
