About Mark Parry

Wm. Mark Parry AIA is a practicing architect and enthusiastic educator in architectural history. He founded IDEA Studios in 1988 and created www.artisanarchitecture.com  a web based design/build alliance in 2013  for preserving, promoting and providing the art and craft of architecture.

Mark is a Federally Qualified Historical Architect and Architectural historian. He established his sustainable, site driven principals while studying for his concurrent degrees in Architecture and Interior Architecture at Arizona State University.   Mark interned, (and was later added as staff,) with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in Scottsdale, AZ.   Mark was mentored by Calvin C. Straub, FAIA, Dean of Architecture at USC and ASU (1920-1998). Calvin was a second generation Artisan Architect and an inventor of mid-century modernism from whom Mark gained his continued appreciation for the art and craft of Architecture.

Mark believes real passion for architecture is caught, not taught and practices sustainable, site driven design principals. He shares his love of architectural history and artisan architecture through his seminars, lectures, courses, tours and architectural practice.
